It’s official—we just hit the 10,000 member mark! And we’re thrilled to see Dance go from zero to 10K before our 2nd anniversary. Here’s how we got here, and what’s next for the Dance movement. 

After thorough testing and a successful launch in Berlin, we soon hit the streets of Hamburg. Munich and Vienna followed in spring 2022, and Paris joined the Dance family one month later, becoming our fastest-growing city. 

When Dance launched, we offered one product along with our service—the Dance One ebike. We soon realised there was demand for a step-through design—a bike easier to mount and use with a basket or child seat. That’s why we developed the Dance One Step, which has become just as popular as our original ebike. Then along came the Dance Moped—made for longer journeys and extra passengers.

We’re always listening to member feedback and working to make our rides and service as smooth and accessible as possible. Here are just some of the features we’ve introduced since launch: Ride tracking through the app, Google and Apple Pay, contactless delivery and pickup, lock upgrades, child seats as an accessory, full cover insurance, and Dance for Business, which lets companies offer Dance subscriptions as a work perk.  

And we’re about to launch a new Routing feature to keep your route map and ride tracking data in one place. It’s currently in beta testing and will be en route to your Dance app very soon.

One thing that has never changed is our mission. Dance was founded with one aim in mind—to make our cities more livable by giving people easy access to sustainable electric vehicles. With 10,000 members speeding across 5 cities every day, that’s a lot fewer journeys by car and a lot less CO2 in the air. 

We couldn’t have done any of this without our incredible community of members. From the early adopters who put their trust in a brand new start-up, to the curious car owners changing things up, from the bike-lovers experimenting with electric to the lapsed cyclists just getting back on the saddle—we’re so grateful to all of you for making Dance part of your everyday life. 

Dance was never just about building a company—we want to build a movement and make a real impact on individual lives and on urban communities. 10,000 members is a great start. Now, with an injection of funding, we’re ready to build on this momentum. We’re partnering with more and more companies to help them offer their teams better, more sustainable commutes on Dance ebikes and mopeds. And, as always, we’re working hard to make the Dance experience even better for our members.
