Berlin, October 11th, 2023 - Dance, a leading company in the field of e-mobility, is intensifying its successful partnership with IoT Venture, a scale-up specializing, among other things, in digital theft protection for e-bikes. With this collaboration, Dance is further investing in the security of its e-bikes and is setting new security standards in the field of e-mobility.
Partnership for Enhanced Security Standards in E-Mobility
Dance and IoT Venture have been working together successfully since the beginning of the year and are now expanding their partnership. Initially, Dance will equip its entire fleet with GPS trackers to provide digital security against theft. This innovative technology was successfully integrated into several thousand "Dance-One" e-bikes earlier this year.
In addition to theft protection, the partnership between Dance and IoT Venture also extends to the area of data signatures. IoT Venture offers intelligent technologies for data analysis for various use cases. Among other things, this will enable the identification of possible patterns in thefts, including indications of organized crime. A jointly developed algorithm will also detect the use of Dance bikes for commercial purposes and ensure compliance with agreed usage guidelines.

The more intensive collaboration in the area of Data Signatures also enables us to detect theft patterns at an early stage."
Proven Tips for Bike Theft Prevention
While IoT Venture's innovative technology may make it easier to recover stolen bikes, the best strategy to protect a Dance bike from theft remains prevention. We have summarized proven tips once again here:
- Always secure the e-bike to a fixed object.
- Use a chain lock to secure both the frame and the front wheel of the e-bike.
- Park the e-bike in well-lit areas with a lot of public traffic.
- If necessary, use additional locks, but remember to remove them before repairs.
- Take the battery along if the e-bike is left unattended for an extended period.
- Remove accessories when the e-bike is unattended.
- If possible, store the e-bike indoors.
Dance also offers its customers comprehensive insurance for added security: Basic insurance is included in every Dance subscription. If the e-bike is stolen and cannot be recovered, Dance covers most of the costs. Customers only pay a deductible of €300 or €500 if the battery is also stolen.
